AltayX
DRONE SYSTEMS

Three platforms. Different missions. One engineering approach.

AltayX carries out platform development in three categories: FPV strike, modular drone and hunter drone. We treat airframe, electronics and software together, and develop each platform for its intended use through design, prototyping and testing stages.

Our product family

FPV strike drone, top view

FPV Strike Systems

The product family covering our FPV kamikaze drone work. We approach this platform, built on an FPV flight architecture, through an operator-controlled usage model and a prototype development process.

Modular drone, top view

Modular Drone Systems

A platform family we develop with the goal of supporting interchangeable cameras, sensors and mission equipment. We focus on making the same core platform configurable for different use scenarios.

Hunter drone, front view

Hunter Drone Systems

Covers our concept and platform development work in the hunter drone category. Enclosed airframe design, electronics layout and high-speed flight research form the development focus of this platform.

Three product families, five development areas.

We carry out our platform work by evaluating mechanical design, mission equipment, flight electronics and software together. The scope of each project is set by its intended use, the available hardware and its development needs.

Modular Drone Platforms

Changing mission equipment on the same platform.

We develop modular structures so that cameras, sensors and mission-specific equipment can be used on a shared platform. We evaluate mounting points, equipment layout and software compatibility together, and address each module's fit with the platform within its own configuration.

Our design goals

  • A platform that can be reconfigured with different mission equipment
  • A layout that makes module swaps and maintenance easier
  • A structure that can be extended with new sensors and hardware
  • Shared mounting approach

We evaluate mechanical mounting, power and data needs together so that mission equipment can be adapted to the platform.

  • Interchangeable mission equipment

We work on module options suited to the platform for imaging, sensors and other mission equipment.

  • Software compatibility

We treat making module data usable with flight and mission software as part of the development process.

  • Maintenance and extensibility

We aim for a platform structure that makes component access, part replacement and future development easier.

Mission Modules and Sensors

Equipment suited to the purpose, working in harmony with the platform.

We evaluate imaging, measurement and data collection hardware for the modular platform. We address each module's placement, power needs and software compatibility together, and decide which equipment to develop based on the use scenario.

Target use scenarios

  • Facility and environmental observation
  • Agricultural and land data collection
  • Field inspection and mission equipment transport
  • Imaging

We evaluate integration options for optical and thermal imaging hardware used for observation and inspection.

  • Sensors and data collection

We work on adapting sensors for collecting land, environmental and facility data to the platform.

  • Communication

We address data sharing between the platform, mission equipment and ground system as one integrated structure.

  • Robotics and mission equipment

We treat robotic equipment and transport solutions for civilian field missions as separate development topics.

Custom Drone Design and Prototyping

A development process that turns ideas into prototypes you can evaluate.

We carry out airframe design, component layout and prototyping work to create platforms suited to the use scenario. Depending on the project's needs, we adapt existing platforms or develop new concepts.

Our work areas

  • Creating a platform concept suited to the mission
  • Adapting existing airframes and equipment to the use scenario
  • Design evaluation through mechanical parts and prototypes
  • Needs and design scope

We define the intended use, operating conditions and development priorities to set the scope of the design.

  • Mechanical design and CAD

We evaluate the airframe, mounting parts and equipment layout together in a digital design environment.

  • Prototyping

We use suitable parts and prototypes so that the design can be examined physically.

  • Evaluation and improvement

We carry observations and test data from prototypes into the next stages of the design.

Flight Electronics and Control Integration

We treat platform components as one system working together.

We focus on how flight control hardware, sensors, the power system and communication components fit the platform. We evaluate the integration of existing flight control stacks and their software configuration according to each prototype's needs.

Our development scope

  • Evaluating the fit between platform and electronic components
  • Addressing sensor, communication and software connections
  • Examining system behaviour through controlled trials
  • Flight control integration

We carry out integration work so that the flight control stack works together with the platform's other components.

  • Sensor connections

We evaluate the sensor data the platform needs and how that data is used in software.

  • Power and system monitoring

We address monitoring of power state and core system data within the platform's electronic design.

  • Position and flight data

We see monitoring of position, status and flight logs as a development area that supports prototype evaluation.

Ground Station and Software Integration

Turning drone data into information the operator can use.

We work on software that lets images and data from the platform be monitored, recorded and evaluated. We aim to build integrated systems by combining our drone development with AltayX's software, AI and automation approach.

Target systems

  • Monitoring interfaces for facility and field observation
  • Reporting dashboards for agricultural and environmental data
  • Software connections for analysing civilian imaging data
  • Ground control interface

We include interfaces in our scope that let the operator follow platform status and mission data.

  • Video and data transfer

We aim to make camera video, sensor data and system logs usable together in the ground software.

  • Analysis and reporting

We handle organising, visualising and reporting collected data together with our software work.

  • User and technical documentation

We include clear documentation of system components, scope of use and maintenance needs in the development process.

Target use cases for modular systems

Agriculture and environmental monitoring

Examining farmland and environmental change through camera and sensor data.

Land and mapping

Collecting imagery and field data to support land surveys and mapping work.

Energy and facility inspection

Assessing energy infrastructure, operating sites and facilities with imaging equipment.

Field logistics

Developing on-site material transport scenarios within suitable equipment and verified capacity.

R&D and prototype development process

We treat each platform within its own development stage and plan progress through design reviews, prototype work and test results.

  2. 2

    Concept and scope

We clarify the platform approach, mission equipment and development priorities.

  3. 3

    Mechanical design

We evaluate the airframe and mounting parts digitally and plan the equipment layout.

  4. 4

    Component compatibility

We examine whether electronics, sensors and communication components work together.

  5. 5

    Prototyping

We prepare part and platform prototypes that allow the design to be evaluated physically.

  6. 6

We address the connections between the platform, mission equipment and monitoring software.

  7. 7

    Controlled testing

We evaluate the prototype's functions and system behaviour under controlled conditions.

  8. 8

    Review and next stage

We document findings and decide on improvements and the next development stage.
